How this is calculated: The tiers are based on the customer's cumulative share (what they have paid themselves) over a 12-month period from the first medicine purchase. The rate decreases as payment reaches each tier's limit and falls to 0% at the maximum (62,000 kr. general, 41,000 kr. lower tiers). The reference price (greiðsluþátttökuverð) is used; if a more expensive medicine is chosen, the customer pays the difference on top, outside the tiers. An aid - not an official calculation.
